BASS Mission & Objectives

BASS is an informal network for social scientists, and like-minded individuals, working within the design and architectural industry.

BASS offers:
networking opportunities and a professional “club” for those interested in people and buildings;
knowledge sharing through presentations from members and external speakers such as academics and overseas visitors, sharing new relevant theories and methodologies;
 awareness of possible joint research between members or with academic and government programmes;
critical mass to lobby professional organisations and the wider industry to adopt the views of social scientists, especially ones that affect building design or new ways of working;
dissemination of guidance through joint publications or guidance offering consensus opinion.
